We are looking for an energetic Assistant Controller to join our team. If you are driven, a self-starter, organized, detail oriented with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and are willing to always go above and beyond to support others, so they can perform at their best, this could be your job!

 

This position will report to the FP&A Controller.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate/coordinate with the sales team of Process Licensing Business Unit
  • Interface regularly with management in US/ France
  • Intense team work and interaction required with the Project Controller, Project Manager, Administration, Accounting and customers when needed
  • Be in charge of credit management for Axens Canada and Americas ROC (Regional Operation Center)
  • Implement a tool and define a process for cash forecast

 

Functions

 

Support to sales administration

  • Interface with Finance and the PL BU on all financial matters as regards pre-sales activities and accordingly the position will support our BU Controller
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of our data: monitor/review data entry concerning projects, quotation, sales orders and support for the sales team. Monitor and work to resolve any order-related issues (T&Cs, payment terms etc...), work closely with accounting and sales team in order to ensure that our Quotes and Commercial POs are entered and monitored correctly
  • Provide functional or business practice guidance on projects
  • Handle billing
  • Collaborate with PL controller for budget, and Forecast by developing.
  • Develop and maintain relevant internal controls and procedures
  • Calculate the Interco Per Diem and hourly rate (used in SAP) that we use to record our costs on projects and also to quote our business to customers

 

 

Credit management

  • Create the operational role of Credit Manager within the company across all Business units 
  • Develop and update credit policies and procedures and monitor compliance with such procedures
  • Establish and update as necessary credit limits on all customer accounts taking into consideration input from sales team and external information from credit evaluation sources
  • Advise the business on risks and develop risk-mitigating strategies where possible through Credit management tools (credit limit, L/C, ad'hoc T&Cs)
  • Responsible for review and reporting of AR outstanding balances with sales team on a periodic basis to identify issues and implement actions to collect and/or establish a reserve for the past due balances
  • Interface with sales team and administrative staff in an effort to mitigate and resolve all customer disputes, cash flow concerns or any collection issue, which may delay timely payment
  • Visit customers as necessary to improve collections, evaluate credit worthiness, and communicate changes in credit terms and policies
  • Support our expansion into Latin America:  implement the above duties in our pre-sales negotiations and actively detect and resolve financial issues and risks that may arise out of new business being developed in Latin America

 

Treasury management

  • Under the direct supervision of the FP&A Controller, the position will create and manage the tools to support the company's cash forecasting effort:
    • Run 3 and 12 Months cash forecasting process and tool across all Business units
    • Develop and maintain cash forecast to support liquidity management, to provide early warning on liquidity risk
    • Responsible of bonds/LOC issuance
    • Perform control and administration of the bonds internally and with our banks

 

Skills

  • Master's degree in business administration, or finance preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Credit management function preferred
  • Time management, multi-task and meet multi deadline
  • Rigorous and transparent, highly ethical
  • Willingness to work in an international environment

  • SAP, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Excellent communication, writing, speaking & listening skills
